SHIPPING, RETURNS, & REFUND POLICIES

Shipping Policy

At Clearlight, our goal is to make your infrared sauna buying experience simple, efficient and easy. Our promise is to ensure your total satisfaction. Shipping damage claims are rare, but they do happen. In the event of shipping damage we will promptly replace or fix the damage to your satisfaction. Should you need to return an item to us, please note our Cancellation and Return Policy below:

Visible Loss or Damage

Any external evidence of loss or damage that occurred during transit is considered visible loss or damage and should be noted on the bill of lading delivery receipt and signed by the carrier's agent (driver).

Concealed Loss or Damage

Any damage that occurred during transit that was not visible at the time of delivery is considered concealed loss or damage. If such a situation occurs it is important to contact Clearlight immediately for instructions on how to handle the claim. If there is any damage, please take photos of the box and any damage that has occurred and contact Clearlight immediately and they will take care of everything from there. You must open all received boxes and inspect products for concealed damage within 7 business days of delivery.

Receiving Your Shipment

When receiving your shipment it is important to do the following:

1. Your shipment may consist of a number of individual boxes placed on a single pallet. The pallet will need to be separated to be unloaded. You sauna will be shipped with lift gate service with a scheduled appointment for delivery. The driver will move your sauna off of the truck.

2. Check shipment for any visible damage to containers. If the boxes are dented, crushed, scratched, punctured, or cut it is very important to mark this on the bill of lading. If there is a possibility of damage it may be necessary to open the box and mark the actual damage on the bill of lading. It is important to be specific.

3. Boxes that have been dropped may not show obvious signs of external damage. You may want to open these specific boxes before the driver leaves to ensure that the contents do not have concealed damage. The driver may refuse to allow you the time to open specific boxes - if this is the case, open the boxes as soon as possible, but not later then 7 days after the delivery, to inspect for damage.

Refusing a Freight Shipment and Freight Carrier Fees

If the shipment is damaged and unusable, it may be necessary to refuse part or all of the order. Call our shipping department at (800) 798-1779 before refusing any shipment.

Please note that any additional freight carrier's fees such as redelivery are the responsibility of the customer (unless otherwise noted on your order). Lift gate service and delivery notification are standard with all orders. If additional services are requested by you and billed to Clearlight, all such fees shall then be re-billed to your credit card. If the freight carrier is unable to deliver the freight due to problems with contacting you or setting up delivery appointments, the carrier may assess storage fees. In such case all storage fees are the responsibility of the customer and shall be billed to your credit card.

Regular delivery is to the front of the house or apartment, known as the “curb.” It is an additional fee to have the boxes brought into the garage or into a house or apartment entryway.

Cancellation and Return Policy

1. If an order is canceled prior to shipment, payment will be fully refunded. Note that we consider your product to be "shipped" when a Bill of Lading and tracking number have been generated for a freight carrier. After products are considered shipped, cancellations are treated as returns, as described below.

2. All returns require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) from our Customer Service Department. Please call (800) 798-1779 to obtain an RMA. No returns will be accepted or any credit granted without an RMA. To provide any credit or replacement units we must first have a chance to receive and completely inspect your return.

3. Per our "30 Day Risk-Free Return Policy" returns will be accepted within 30 business days of product receipt. Shipping charges on returns shall be the responsibility of the customer and all returned items must be returned in "new" or "like new" condition, in undamaged original manufacturer's packaging and with all original product manuals. After the product is received, inspected and verified to be in "like new" condition, a full refund will be provided on the product purchase price MINUS any original shipping charges and minus a 25% restocking charge. For products sold with a "Free Shipping Promotion" the actual freight cost to originally ship the product will be deducted from your refund as well.

4. If you refuse an item delivered by a commercial shipping company for any reason other than damaged merchandise or a shipping error by us, the item shall be treated as a return and charges described in Section 3 above shall be applied.

5. Products come with a manufacturer's warranty that is located in with the sauna packaging or in the documentation that comes with the sauna. We do not provide any warranty over and above the manufacturer's warranty.

CLEARLIGHT INFRARED SAUNAS LIMITED WARRANTY

Your Clearlight Infrared Sauna is warranted to be free of defects in material and workmanship for:

1) Heaters: Lifetime

2) Workmanship: Lifetime

3) Electrical Components: Lifetime

4) Audio Components: Lifetime

This warranty extends only to the original retail purchaser of the sauna and terminates upon transfer of ownership. It does not extend to commercial or institutional use of installation.

The sauna must be purchased and installed in the United States and Canada within one year of manufactured date. Freight charges to and from the customer are the responsibility of the customer. This includes freight charges for parts shipped to enable the services of your sauna.

The warranty is void if the sauna has been altered, misused, or abused. Such instances shall include operation or maintenance of the sauna in deviation to the published instructions. The warranty extends only to the manufacturing defects and does not cover any damages resulting from mishandling of the product by the owner.

Clearlight Saunas (Sauna Works) shall not be liable for the loss of use of the sauna or other incidental or consequential damages. Damage resulting from misuse and external conditions, such as water from a plumbing leak within the home or flooding, fire, earthquake, or other acts of nature, are not covered in the warranty.

Under no circumstances shall Clearlight Saunas (Sauna Works) or any of its representatives be held liable for injury to any persons or damages to any properties. Some states do not allow exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state. Specifications are subject to change without notice.

FAR INFRARED & FULL SPECTRUM SAUNA HEATERS: LOW EMF / LOW ELF SAUNA TECHNOLOGY

As a leader and innovator in the infrared sauna industry for over 20 years, we have been manufacturing infrared saunas that are both luxurious and effective. While our cabins are exceptional quality, the therapeutic benefits of infrared heat are our main focus.

Over the last eight years, there has been a big debate as to whether Carbon heaters or Ceramic heaters are “better”. Carbon heaters produce high quality, long wave infrared heat, but the problem is they do not produce a lot of infrared heat – in our testing they seemed weak. Ceramic heaters are powerful and emit a lot of infrared heat, but the wavelength tended to be shorter, thus less therapeutic.

Our R&D department has ended that debate by introducing the ONLY combination Carbon/Ceramic far infrared heater.

Clearlight True Wave™ Far Infrared Heaters combine Carbon and Ceramic to produce healing infrared heat that is unmatched. Our heaters are comprised of micro-thin carbon fibers (1/1000th the thickness of a human hair) combined with our patented micro fine ceramic compound for higher infrared output (emissivity). We manufacture all our heaters in our own factory in a special process with the carbon/ceramic layers alternated with layers of a woven substrate which combine under high heat and pressure to make one heater at a time.

This innovative process produces a heater with tremendous output and high thermal emissivity. The heater is then tested under power for several hours and measured for the electrical draw, surface temperature, and emf output in twelve locations.

The carbon in our heaters allows the heater to produce long wave far infrared heat. This long wave infrared heat penetrates deeper into your body and the infrared heat is more readily absorbed. The ceramic in our heaters gives the heaters a very high infrared output when compared to traditional carbon heaters so we can concentrate the heat directly on your body.  All Clearlight Sauna® models utilize our True Wave™ Far Infrared Heaters.

We also developed the first and only virtually no-EMF combination carbon/ceramic heaters. This patent pending process allows us to cancel out virtually all of the EMF (electromagnetic fields). Using a laboratory grade EMF meter and measuring directly on top of our True Wave heaters, our heaters have an average EMF output of about 2.5 milligauss (mg). Compare that to over 100mg for most of our competitors carbon based heaters. In addition, when we test where you are sitting in the sauna, there is virtually no EMF. 

WHY ARE TRUE WAVE™ FAR INFRARED HEATERS BETTER FOR YOU?

The larger size of our True Wave™ Far Infrared heaters mean more surface area, resulting in lower surface temperature. The result of this low temperature is that our heaters produce more FAR or LONG wave infrared heat which is more therapeutic for your body. CLEARLIGHT® SAUNAS CORE BODY TEMPERATURE AND HEART RATE STUDY

All Clearlight Infrared Sauna® models have been shown to raise core body temperature. The data above from the Arcadia Cancer Clinic in Germany shows an average of a 3% core body temperature increase in a 40 minute Clearlight Infrared Sauna session.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN CHOOSING A FAR INFRARED HEATER

We understand the difficulty in choosing an infrared sauna and trying to determine which heaters will work best for you. The following are a few questions to ask when comparing various heaters:

1.) What is the surface temperature of the heater?

The is one of the most important questions as it determines the size the of the infrared wavelength and the overall effectiveness of the heater. The two scientific principals that govern infrared emissions are called Planks Law and Weins Law. Both of these scientific laws have an equation with several constants and the only variable is the surface temperature of the heater. They both say that the lower the surface temperature of the heater, the longer the infrared wave will be and the more effective the infrared heat will be for you.

2.) Does the sauna have front and back heaters?

One of the keys to sweating and effective detoxification in an infrared sauna is warming your body and raising your core body temperature. You want to find a sauna that heats both the back and front of your body. You cannot effectively detox in an infrared sauna without warming your front core. Many saunas on the market today leave the front heaters out or have very small front heaters for aesthetic reasons – a huge mistake in our opinion. Our Clearlight True Wave™ heaters are positioned so that they cover your full back area and the front heaters are positioned so that they are aimed at your front core. They do an excellent job of warming your body core and raising your core body temperature.

3.) Is the far infrared heat directed where it’s most needed?

We have found that the problem with traditional carbon heaters is that, while they produce high quality infrared heat, they don’t produce a lot of it and it is not concentrated on your body. These heaters work well when they are within a few inches of your body as in some of the lay down infrared units, but not when they are in a large sauna cabin. The heaters go all the way up over your head and are really just heating the sauna cabin air. Because infrared heat travels in a straight line, you want to make sure that the heater directs the heat toward your body core, not just into the air around you.

4.) Radiant heat vs. reflected heat:

You will see many heaters on the market that are a thin, single rod with a metal reflector behind it. Generally, these heaters produce low quality far infrared heat when compared to a large flat panel far infrared heater. First, a single rod heater must run at a much higher surface temperature than a large flat radiant heater to produce sufficient infrared heat. As mentioned above, the higher the surface temperature the less effective the infrared heat will be.

Because of the lower surface temperature of our True Wave™ Far Infrared Heaters, sitting in your Clearlight sauna is more enjoyable. You’ll find the heat in your Clearlight Sauna® model gentler than most, yet deeper and more penetrating – overall a better sauna experience.

In their book Beyond Antibiotics, Drs. Michael A. Schmidt et al. state the following:

“Saunas are being used by some doctors to stimulate the release of toxins from the bodies of their patients. They have found that a lower temperature (105-125 F) sauna taken for a longer duration is most beneficial. These low temperatures stimulate a fat sweat, which eliminates toxins stored in fat, as opposed to the high temperature sauna, which encourages a water sweat.”

TRUE WAVE™ WARM-UP TIME

CLEARLIGHT® SAUNAS USE TUNED FAR INFRARED

The human body sends and receives far infrared waves. The range of far infrared waves generated by the human body is 6 to 20 microns. The optimal micron output range of an infrared heater is between 6 and 12 microns which is very close to the resonant frequency of a water molecule and the optimum infrared absorption rate of the human body. This similarity makes sense since our bodies are almost 70% water. This range, sometimes called the “Vital Rays” appears to have special regenerative effects on the body.

When far infrared waves are applied to water molecules, these molecules begin to vibrate. This vibration reduces the ion bonds and the eventual breakdown of the water molecules causes encapsulated gasses and other toxic materials to be released.
